Watery Grave

1 Search ye the Scriptures, for in them is given
All the commands of our Saviour and King;
Why will you say: "I believe on the Saviour,"
Yet you obey not in every thing.

Yes, yes, 'tis true Jesus came down from heaven,
Shed His own blood, all the world here to save;
O then believe all commands that are given,
Follow Him on thro' the watery grave!

2 Why not be washed in the pure, cleansing fountain?
Follow His footsteps and trust Him to save;
Show forth His burial and resurrection,
Rise to new life from the watery grave. [Refrain]

3 See, the commandments of Jesus are binding,
Since from the tomb as a victor He came;
Sinner, accept now the plan He has given,
