Send Forth Thy Light

Representative Text

1 Send forth thy light the weary world to gladden!
Brighten the way for others day by day;
He who the Father is of light and life eternal
Will give to thee to scatter on thy way.

Chorus:
Send forth thy light, the world has need of sunshine;
Send forth thy light some darkened heart to cheer;
Stretch out thy hand to aid a weary brother,
No helpful deed is waster, never fear.

2 Speak but a word, some heart may now be waiting
For that one word which thou alone may’st say;
Give of thy cheerfulness to all who are about thee;
Help dry the tears from saddened eyes away. [Chorus]

3 Give but a smile, it may be that its blessing
Will stretch away beyond thy tho’t or ken,
And that some lonely life may find its cheerful message;
Send forth thy light among thy fellowmen. [Chorus]
