Representative Text

1 Shall mortals dare contend
With an almighty God?
Who can resist His powerful arm,
Or bear His vengeful rod?

2 He executes His will
In Heav’n, and earth and hell;
And while the angels prostrate fall,
Shall sinful man rebel?

3 He’ll mock the vain design,
His wrath shall pierce them through;
The wages due to every sin
Is everlasting woe.
