Representative Text

1 Some day I shall cross the river,
I know not if soon or late,
But this do I know—the Saviour
Will meet me at Heaven’s gate!

Refrain:
At portals of the Heav’nly gate
My Lord will stand and for me wait,
All sorrow past—all safe at last,
I’ll enter through the Heav’nly gate.

2 O joyful will be the meeting,
When safe in His blest embrace!
I’ll dwell in His glorious presence,
Beholding Him face to face. [Refrain]

3 Earth’s sorrows will seem as nothing
When loved ones again I see,
And life but a little journey
To that blest Eternity! [Refrain]
