Wondrous, Wondrous Love

Swifter than bird in the flight

Author: Flora Kirkland
Tune: [Swifter than bird in the flight]
Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 Swifter than bird in the flight,
Swifter than passage of light,
Cometh God’s love,
Sent from above,
Making our pathway bright.

Chorus:
Wondrous, wondrous love untold,
Better far than gems or gold,
Light to cheer us on,
Till our journey’s done,
Guiding to the heav’nly fold.

2 Look, child of God, to the sky,
Jesus attendeth your cry;
Tell him your care,
Trust him to share;
He at your call comes nigh. [Chorus]

3 Father, Thy mercy we prove;
Jesus, we trust in Thy love;
Spirit of light,
Working in might,
Blessing us from above. [Chorus]
