Representative Text

1 Tell to me the sweet old story
Of the Babe of Bethlehem.
How He came to earth from Heaven
To redeem poor fallen men.

Refrain:
Open wide, ye pearly portals,
Let our songs of praise ascend
To the throne of our Redeemer—
Blessed Babe of Bethlehem.

2 Tell me of His pain and anguish
Out in dark Gethsemane;
Tell me of His bleeding, dying
On the cross of Calvary. [Refrain]

3 Tell me of His resurrection
And ascension from the tomb
To the height of endless glory,
Where He sits upon His throne. [Refrain]

4 Tell it o’er, and keep on telling;
Not the half can e’er be told,
Of the beauty and the grandeur,
That our eyes shall yet behold. [Refrain]
