George Edward Martin – Martin left his charge in St. Louis, MO, in 1898. For two years following he was pastor of the Holland Memorial Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia and then spent a year and a half in rest and travel. He was installed pastor of the Kirk Street congregational Church in Lowell, Mass., March 3, 1902. He received the degree of D.D. from Wabash College in 1895, and also from Park College, MO. He is the author of “Sermons and Sermon Rhymes,” and “Sunday Songs for Little Children,” and has given much time and study to the writing of hymns and tunes for children.
