In the Likeness of My King

Representative Text

1 There will dawn a glorious morning,
When the pearly gates unfold;
I shall see my home in glory,
Jasper walls and streets of gold.
I shall see those angel faces,
Hear their voices as they sing,
And rejoice when I awaken,
In the likeness of my King.

Refrain:
I shall be like Him,
And redemption’s song shall sing,
When I waken in His likeness,
In the likeness of my King.

2 O the greeting and rejoicing,
When the dear ones I shall meet;
Heart to heart in glad reunion,
We shall tread heav’n’s golden street.
Then my joy will know its fullness,
As the glad “hosannas” sing,
When I waken in His likeness,
In the likeness of my King. [Refrain]

3 But the face of Christ my Saviour,
I have longed so much to see,
Will be fairest of ten thousand,
Gathered ‘round the crystal sea.
O how sweet this smile of welcome,
When to Him my all I bring,
And rejoice when I awaken,
In the likeness of my King. [Refrain]
