William L. Beebe, son of Gilbert Beebe. He became a minister when he was 20, serving in the old school or Primitive Baptist churches in the Untied States and Canada. He edited "The Southern Baptist Messenger, "Georgia Enterprise" and succeeded his father as editor of the "Signs of the Times" in Middletown, NY along with his brother Benton L. Beebe.
