Opening Hymn

Representative Text

1 Together here again we meet,
And joyfully each other greet,
And humbly bow before His feet,
Whose name we know is love.
And while assembled here today,
We'll read and sing and praise and pray,
And strive to learn the narrow way,
That leads to Heaven above.

2 And while our voices here we raise,
O Lord, accept our grateful praise!
For thou hast kept our youthful days
From sorrow, guilt and fear.
O Jesus, be our Shepherd still!
With joy may every bosom thrill,
And may we learn to do thy will
In this, our School so dear.

3 May all the time which here we spend
Be holy time! Thy spirit send,
O Lord, and from all sin defend
Thy dear ones gathered here.
For we unto thy promise cling,
That where a few their off'rings bring,
And joyfully thy praises sing,
To such thou'rt always near.

4 And wilt thou, Saviour, meet us here,
On this thy day to us so dear,
Wilt thou to every heart be near
By thy forgiving love?
And when no more we meet below,
Wilt thou thy saving grace bestow,
That all thy children here may go,
And dwell with thee above.
