During our last fund drive a donor said this: "Covid-19 rules prevent us from singing during my husband's burial service, so we will play the tune while we read the printed words or hum along with the music." Needless to say, this testimony struck us and stuck with us. We never know on any given day how Hymnary.org will be a blessing to people, but we know that around the world, the site is making a powerful difference in the lives of many.

Thanks to all who use Hymnary.org and all who support it with gifts of time, talent and treasure. If you feel moved to support our work today with a gift of any amount and a word of encouragement, we would be grateful.

What though my joys and comfort die?
The Lord my savior liveth.
What though the darkness gather round?
Songs in the night he giveth.

Representative Text

1 Vor Fader, du, hvis Guddomshaand
Vor Vei og Vandring freder,
Din milde naaderige Aand
Alt godt for os bereder;
Du kalder Børn hen til din Favn,
Velsigner dem i Jesu Navn
Med Naade over Naade!

2 I dette Navn vi træde ind,
Hvor vi dit Ord skal lære,
Lys med din Sandheds klare Skin,
Veiled os til din Ære!
Opliv vor Tro, styrk vor Forstand,
At vi din Frelse kjende kan,
Velsign vor Indgang, Herre!

3 Ja, lad et Naadens Foraar her
Udfolde ret sin Glæde,
Saa knoppes maa de unge Trær,
Saa spire maa det Spæde,
Saa Ordets Sæd, som l"ndes ned,
Til Hjertefred og Salighed
De tusind fold maa bære!
