In the Highway of the King (Clark)

Representative Text

1 We are marching onward, marching day by day;
Walking in the sunshine on our happy way;
Jesus is our captain, in Him we confide;
He our footsteps ever faithfully will guide.

Refrain:
We have heard the call of Jesus,
And we rally unto Him; all of self to Him we bring;
We are marching ’neath His banner;
We are marching in the highway of the King.

2 We are marching onward, at our leader’s call;
By our gleaming swords shall every foeman fall;
Thro’ our loving Savior, we have strength to fight,
Marching on to victory, conqu’ring for the right. [Refrain]

3 We are marching onward, to our home on high,
Where the ransomed host shall gather by and by;
Let not courage falter, banish every fear;
Clouds are disappearing, victory is near. [Refrain]
