Representative Text

1 We’re soldiers of the King, redeemed,
And saved thro’ Jesus’ blood;
Enlisted now for Zion’s war,
To fight for Christ our Lord.
We’ll bear His banner where He leads,
And serve Him as we go;
Beneath His cross while time thus speeds,
Resolved but Christ to know.

Refrain:
Then sing, gladly sing,
And battle for the right;
We’ll laud and magnify our king
And serve Him with delight.

2 We’re soldiers of the King, today
We march in numbers strong;
We’ll take this world without delay,
By prayer and faith and song;
Our captain leads us onward, He
The Lord of earth and skies,
Shall gain for us the victory,
The foe before Him flees. [Refrain]

3 We’re soldiers of the King, and go
With grace sufficient blest,
Naught but the Spirit’s lead to know,
Nor dare to think of rest.
Until we stand with battle scars
And wounds before the throne,
Where we shall dwell beyond the stars
With Christ in Heav’n our home. [Refrain]
