When in Twilight

When in twilight, footsore, bleeding

Author: Frank W. Gunsaulus

Representative Text

1 When in twilight, footsore, bleeding,
And unknown my way,
Lord of light, I ask Thy leading
Until day.

2 If my weary heart is failing,
Chilled and weak my hand,
Let me hear with faith unquailing
Love’s command.

3 If I sin in thought or living,
Thro’ the day or night,
Grasp me with Thy love forgiving,—
Love is light,

4 Moving midst time’s gloom and splendor,
Slowly westering down,
Let me find Thee strong and tender,
And the crown.

Amen.
