When Satan tries to tempt me

Representative Text

1 When Satan tries to tempt me, and says it is in vain
To walk the narrow pathway, my goal I’ll never gain;
Before his darts can harm me, I hear a gentle call,
Which says that He who died to save me will not let me fall.

Refrain:
He will not let me fall,
No, He will not let me fall,
His gentle voice still guides me,
I hear His loving call.
He will not let me fall,
No, He will not let me fall,
I lean upon His promise,
For He will not let me fall.

2 A thousand snares and pitfalls my footsteps may surround,
An host encamp against me, and dangers fierce abound;
But none of these can harm me, for like a fiery wall,
His loving arms protect me and He will not let me fall. [Refrain]

3 And so with faith triumphant, tho’ tempted oft to sin,
I lean on Him who helps me, the victory to win;
And tho’ I am unworthy, His love supplies my all,
I know that I shall conquer, for He will not let me fall. [Refrain]
