My Grace is Suffient

With every temptation, besetment and snare

Author: E. A. Boynton
Tune: [With ev'ry temptation, besetment and snare]
Published in 2 hymnals

Representative Text

1 With ev'ry temptation, besetment and snare,
Some way of escape there will be;
My Word that is written doth plainly declare,
"My grace is sufficient for thee."

Refrain:
My grace is sufficient for thee, for thee,
My grace is sufficient for thee;
My Word that is written doth plainly declare,
"My grace is sufficient for Thee."

2 I never will give thee a burden to bear,
If only thy trust is in Me,
But grace will attend thee, that burden to share;
"My grace is sufficient for thee." [Refrain]

3 When passions unholy are hard to subdue,
And faileth thy hope to be free,
Forget not that promise, it still remains true:
"My grace is sufficient for thee." [Refrain]

4 It pleaseth thy Father to have thee feel weak,
And helpless as helpless can be;
But doubting no longer, believe when I speak:
"My grace is sufficient for thee." [Refrain]

5 So trusting, thy soul shall see happier days,
And thy song of thanksgiving shall be:
"Dear Father, my sorrow is turned into praise,
"Thy grace is sufficient for me." [Refrain]
