Yes, 'tis the same old story

Representative Text

1 Yes, ’tis the same old story,
Told o’er and over again,
Of how the Lord of glory
Came down to visit men:
To purge away transgressions,
To save them from their sin,
To grant them full remission,
And make them pure within.

Refrain:
Oh! yes, the same old story,
Of Christ, the Lord of glory,
Of how He loves the lowly,
And saves us from our sin.

2 We welcome then this happy day,
We hail the heavenly King,
We raise with joy our tuneful lay
And make the welkin ring;
With gladsome voice and cheerful heart,
We great each other here,
And glad are we to do our part,
And give each other cheer. [Refrain]
