Robbins Battell, was born in Norfolk, Connecticut in 1819 and died there in 1895. He was the son of Joseph Battell, a wealthy merchant. He graduated from Yale in 1839 and was an adviser to Abraham Lincoln, and a benefactor to his town and Yale University. Battell was also a composer and art collector. Nancy Naber.
