Johan Isidor Dannström born 15 December 1812 in Stockholm, died 17 October 1897, was a Swedish composer, music critic, opera singer (baritone) and vocal coach.
Dannström studied at the Stockholm Conservatory 1826-1829 and in Paris for García mud . He worked at the Royal Theatre 1841-1844 and vocal coach from 1844 to 1886. Dannström was the conductor of the Harmonious Society from 1846 to 1847. He also ran a music store in Stockholm from 1856 to 1886. He was elected as member #329 of the Royal Academy of Music February 28, 1851.
He was a general agent for the German pneumatic harmoniumtillverkaren Trayser in Stuttgart. Dannström is represented in the 1986 hymnal with a book (No. 80). Well known is also his comic duet Duellists bas… Go to person page >
