"Mother Catherine A Carroll, RSCJ, was a music professor at Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart as well as one of the pillars of the Pius X School of Liturgical Music at Manhattanville. Along with Josephine Morgan, R.S.C.J., J. Vincent Higginson, Margaret Leddy, Theodore Marier and Mary B. Saunders, Mother Carroll was on the committee that produced the well-loved Pius X Hymnal, published by McLaughlin and Reilly.
The Catherine Carroll Prize at Manhattanville College was created in 1981 in honor of Sr. Catherine Carroll, distinguished Professor of Music Theory, by her colleagues upon the occasion of her retirement.
