Leonard Bisco Starkweather was born in Walpole, N.H.,11 Oct. 1838, married in ; Belvidere, IL., 9 May, 1867, Mary Imogene Pierce. He lived in Rockford, IL., from 1863 to 1873, then went to Chicago, IL., and then in Millburn, Lake county, IL. He was educated at Powers Institute, Bernardston, Mass., and in Boston from 1855 to 1863. He was secretary of the Gurney Phaeton and Cab Company and also of the Metropolitan Cab Company, both of Chicago, IL., from the date of their organization. He esd a professor of music and composed anthems, hymn tunes, songs, waltzes, polkas, etc. He issued in connection with L. O. Emerson of Boston, a book of Sabbath School songs, entitled " Glad Tidings." He traveled all over the country, holding singing conventio… Go to person page >
