I added five Al Smith Low Voices volumes (from the 1940s) yesterday, but they are all missing this morning. Are they duplicates of some other titles or what? I wish the redaction history here were more transparent à la Wikipedia.

Or is it the fact that they're identified as Solos that disqualifies them?

They are not disqualified. I changed the hymnal ID's because they did not conform to having hymnal title initials (up to four initials) followed by the date. It looks like these were all re-published in the same year, 1948, but in different volumes. ASLV11948 would be too long; so the new id's are LV11948, LV21948 etc. You can also find them by title "Al Smith's Choice Collection of Gospel Solos for Low Voice"

I am not sure they are all the same year, but I don't know for sure. But they disappeared out of my My Hymnals list, which made me think they had been eliminated. I'll look at them for dates.
