| Tune: | [I will not be afraid at night] |
| Composer: | Wm. B. Bradbury |
1 I will not be afraid at night,
When all alone I lie,
And darkness takes the place of light;
For God is nigh.
2 His shelt’ring arm supports my head,
And lovingly He keeps
A constant watch around my bed;
God never sleeps.
3 I will not be afraid to hear
The rolling tempest wild,
If Jesus whisper in my ear,
I am His child.
4 I will not be afraid to tread
The portals of the tomb,
For Jesus there a light will shed
To cheer the gloom.
