Text: | Reception Hymn |
Author: | Amos R. Wells |
Tune: | [Gladly the servants of the King] |
Composer: | Hubert P. Main |
1 Gladly the servants of the King
Enlarge their working band,
Rejoice with songs of welcoming
To seize a brother’s hand.
2 Blest is his work who toils alone
To serve the blessed Lord;
But myriad joys the many own
Who work with one accord.
3 Their counsels wise are manifold,
A hundred arms to stay,
A hundred hands that will uphold
Upon a doubtful way.
4 Teach us to work together here,
And bless our brotherhood;
What Thou dost hate, our only fear,
Thy joy our only good.
