1 Hail, Easter bright, in glory dight!
The heavens laugh and sing;
Since Christ, our light, uprose by night,
Let carols greet our king.
2 Ye sons of men, in triumph high,
Exult with heart and voice:
Ye sons of God, make glad reply,
Let Heaven and earth rejoice.
3 Our Paschal joy Christ Jesus is,
Delight of angels aye:
’Tis He doth ope the gates of bliss,
And wash our guilt away.
4 His wounds, how fair to look upon!
He liveth, slain of yore:
Winter for Him is past and gone,
And tempests rage no more.
5 The blood of Christ won pardon sure
For man from God above:
In His, our death wounds find a cure;
Thanks, Jesu, for Thy love.
