The Cyber Hymnal ‎#17040

17040. Someone Knocking

1. Someone knocking, someone pleading,
At the portal of my heart,
Sweetly pleading, oh, so earnest
Can I say to Him, depart?

Refrain

Someone knocking, someone pleading,
At the portal of my heart,
Sweetly pleading, oh, so earnest,
Can I say to Him, depart?
Can I say to Him, depart?

2. "Trust in Me," He gently whispers,
"Sick and sad and sore thou art,
Trust in Me, and I will heal thee";
Shall I say to Him, depart?

Refrain

3. I am weary, I am troubled,
Oh, the bitter pain, the smart;
Rest and peace and joy He offers,
How can I bid Him depart?

Refrain

4. Tarry with me, oh, my Savior,
Here to Thee I yield my heart;
Enter in, I will receive Thee,
Nevermore will say depart.

Refrain
