Text: | Christ Is King |
Author: | Grant Colfax Tullar |
Tune: | [“Christ is King,” let every heart proclaim] |
Composer: | J. W. Lerman |
1 “Christ is King,” let ev’ry heart proclaim,
Pledge allegiance to His holy Name,
Lift His banner high,
For Him dare to die,
Who once bore for you the cross of shame.
Refrain:
Unto ev’ry land tell the story,
“Christ is King,”
Ring it out in anthems of glory,
“Christ is King,”
He shall reign forever and ever,
Naught our love from Him e’er can sever,
Let each tongue His kingship proclaim,
Praising His holy Name.
2 “Christ is King,” to Him our hearts we bring,
With our praises all His courts shall ring,
“Love and loyalty”
Shall our motto be,
While we gladly follow Christ our King. [Refrain]
3 “Christ is King,” all other kings shall fail,
But forever shall His reign prevail;
From His throne above
He shall rule in love,
To this blessed King all hail! all hail! [Refrain]
