115. The beautiful spring

1 The beautiful spring,
Sweet music doth ring
O'er mountain and valley below;
The birds on the wing
Glad tidings they bring,
That winter is gone with its snow.

Chorus:
O beautiful spring,
Glad songs we will sing
Of thee and the pleasure you bring;
Your presence we greet,
Your coming is sweet—
A welcome to you we will sing.

2 The flowers in bloom
Dispel all our gloom,
All nature is lovely and gay;
Then let us rejoice
With heart and with voice,
And welcome the beautiful May. [Chorus]

3 Glad springtime is here,
We greet it with cheer,
And hail its return once again;
It tells us that we
Must ready soon be
To harvest the ripening grain. [Chorus]
