116. Springtime is coming

1 The springtime is coming, the roses are blooming,
There's music and gladness today;
The robin is singing, the skylark is soaring,—
We love the bright, beautiful May.

Refrain:
Be cheerful and happy, be merry with gladness,
And welcome the beautiful spring!
Away to the forest, away to the meadow,
While carols of gladness we sing!

2 The springtime is coming, we see the sweet flowers,
Their sweet scented fragrance we love;
They're blooming in forests, on hills and on bowers,
Among them we gladly will rove. [Refrain]

3 We'll wander by brooklets, we'll ramble thro' valleys,
O'er mountain and hilltops we'll climb,
We'll listen to music of jaybird and robin,
While studying nature sublime! [Refrain]
