1 There is light among shadows and peace amid strife
If our Savior treads with us the pathway of life,
And tho’ danger may threaten, we never need fear,
For no ill can befall us when Jesus is near.

3 In the presence divine there is solace for grief,
As the heart from each burden finds holy relief,
And His tender compassion will change ev’ry tear
To a smile of rejoicing when Jesus is near. [Refrain]
