1 Lean on the Lord, when the storm is sweeping,
Shelter and light Jesus will provide;
Safe you will be in His precious keeping,
For every need, strength will be supplied.

Lean on the Lord, let His grace uphold you,

Oft of His love He has sweetly told you;
Lean ever, lean on the Lord.

2 Lean on the Lord, when your courage fails you,
Then you will sing, tho’ the way be dim;
Trust in His strength when the foe assails you,
All the way home, truly lean on Him. [Refrain]

3 Lean on the Lord, love and trust Him ever,
For to the end Jesus will be true;
Oh, lean on Him, slighting, doubting never,
For, come what may, He will help you through. [Refrain]
