1. When Israel was in Egypt's land:
Let my people go.
Opprest so hard they could not stand:

2. Thus saith the Lord, bold Moses said:
Let my people go.
If not, I'll smite your firstborn dead:

4. Oh, 'twas a dark and dismal night:

When Moses led the Israelites:
