1 O soul beset with sorrows deep;
Why quake with fear and pine and weep;
God is thy refuge ever near,
O list, O soul, His sweet voice hear.

2 God is the midst of Zion stands,
He will give peace with His strong hands;
Nor will He with His help delay,

3 Fear not, removed tho' earth should be,
And mountains fall into the sea;
In him thou wilt a refuge find,
O hear His voice so sweet and kind. [Refrain]

4 O let not Satan frighten thee,
Trust God and His salvation see;
He will not fail thee, trust Him still,
He ev'ry promise will fulfill. [Refrain]

5 He loves thy faith in Him to try;
But if thou trust thou shalt not die;
He'll roll the roaring sea away;
