| Text: | Not on the Works of Man |

| Tune: | PRINCEPS |
| Composer: | Charles P. Jones |
1 Not on the works of man I trust,
Not on the arm of failing dust,
But on the finished work of Him
Who gave His life men to redeem.
2 I dare not trust my righteousness
Nor man's self given promises,
But hoping in the Saviour's blood
I now am reconciled to God.
3 Not am I left in doubt, but He
His Holy Spirit gives to me
A present witness with the blood
That I am now an heir of God.
4 O precious blood that covers sin
And makes the spirit whole and clean,
Under thy power will I hide,
And rest redeemed and sanctified.
5 O Spirit, witness of my life,
My leader in the daily strife,
Form well the Christ within my soul,
Teach, witness, strengthen and control.
