Text: | The Love of GOD |
1 The love of God is a sea,
A sea without a shore,
He dy'd for sinners such as we,
Praise him forevermore.
2 This sweet eternal love,
O what a glorious theme,
The saints can sound those notes above,
And we can faintly dream.
3 The blessed fountain love,
That sweet and endless stream,
The saints and angels now above,
Are now a swimming in.
4 We taste a drop below,
It fills our souls with bliss,
We pant and long, and wish to know,
The full extent of this.
5 Our souls would gladly swim,
In this eternal sea,
Yes, drink and draw those comforts in,
To one eternal day.
6 But O the time will come
That we shall reach the shore,
This happy sea will be our home,
Praise God forevermore.
