1 God’s blessed word we read with joy,
On this His holy day;
And may the truths that we shall learn
Inspire us to obey.

2 His message sweet is given us,
To help and bless us all;
We pray His Spirit to impart,
And keep us lest we fall.

3 This lamp that guides our erring feet,
The light that points the way;
Will lead us through all years to come
To heaven’s brighter day.
