| Text: | It Shall Be Mine |
| Author: | J. W. Van DeVenter |
| Tune: | [There waits a crown beyond the skies] |
| Composer: | J. W. Van DeVenter |
1 There waits a crown beyond the skies,
A fadeless gem, a royal prize,
Within the Saviour’s tender care,
For every child of God to wear.
Refrain:
It shall be mine, unfading gem,
Eternal gift, bright diadem;
Its radiant light the stars outshine;
The crown of glory shall be mine!
2 I suffer here, endure the pain,
I bear the crown that I may reign;
I seek the honor and renown
That glorifies the victor’s crown. [Refrain]
3 No cruel hand can dim nor mar,
Deny the crown of one bright star;
The light will never fade away,
But glitter like the orb of day. [Refrain]
4 Eternal years will come and go,
And all shall pass away below;
But, far above, the realms of night,
The crown will shine forever bright. [Refrain]
