20. We Are Ever Marching On

1 We are ever marching on,
Happy ranks of volunteers;
Each equipped with youthful zeal;
Boldly fighting doubts and fears
Christ, the King, who leads us on,
Endless life for all has won;
Now for him we dare and do;
We are soldiers brave and true.

2 We are ever marching on,
Halting not in all the plain;
We have foes to overcome,
Many trophies here to gain.
Gladly we will face the strife,
To obtain eternal life,
To receive our Lord's "well done,"
When the battle shall be won.

3 We are ever marching on,
Youthful hearts with faith are strong;
In our Leader we confide,
Singing now the victor's song:
Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
For the hopes of blest reward,
Victory to us is sure
Who unto the end endure.

4 We are ever marching on
T'ward the palace of our King:
Joys eternal wait us there,
Crowns and harps of which we sing.
In that kingdom we shall wear
Blood-washed garments white and fair;
And beside the crystal sea
Wave our palms of victory.
