106. There remaineth a rest

1 There remaineth a rest to the people of God,
It is peaceful and holy, and sweet evermore,
That our Saviour has bought with his own precious blood,
And its fullness is known on the heavenly shore.

Chorus:
There remaineth a rest, There remaineth a rest,
There remaineth a rest to the people of God,
There remaineth a rest, There remaineth a rest,
There remaineth a rest to the people of God.

2 There remaineth a rest to the people of God,
Blessed rest which is found in the Saviour's embrace,
Rest from sin, pain and sorrow, in the bright abode,
When the saints shall with joy, see their dear Saviour's face. [Chorus]

3 There remaineth a rest to the people of God,
Those who gain it shall never be weary again,
Come, poor weary, one burdened with sin's heavy load,
There is rest if you trust in the Lamb that was slain. [Chorus]
