27. Awake, my Soul

1 Awake, my soul, thy sacred song,
Awake thy praise and prayer;
The King is on his holy throne,
O, kneel before him there.

Refrain:
Oh, let thy songs adoring rise,
On wings of love and rapture soar;
Come kneel before the heavenly King,
And worship and adore.

2 So great are all his gifts of love
Thou canst not comprehend;
Unceasing as eternal years,
His goodness shall not end. [Refrain]

3 No worthy gift hast thou to lay
Upon that heavenly shrine;
But take thy heart of love and say,
O Father, it is thine. [Refrain]

4 Thou art the off’ring he would have,
His grace will make it meet;
Though poor and worthless, bring thy gift
And lay it at his feet. [Refrain]
