38. This God Is Our God

1 Faith builds her foundation on God’s mighty word,
The rock that withstands all the earthquake’s endeavor,
And over the conflict her sweet voice is heard,

Refrain:
This God is our God forever and ever,
This God is our God forever and ever.

2 Faith trusts for her cleansing to Christ’s precious blood
To save ev’ry moment, sin’s bondage to sever;
That fountain of healing still rolls its blest flood, [Refrain]

3 Faith takes up the cross as she journey’s along,
And scatters good seed with and earnest endeavor,
While over all trials still echoes the song, [Refrain]

4 Faith looks for her heaven at God’s own right hand,
Then home where the thorns from the roses shall sever;
This earth she well knows is a long weary land; But [Refrain]
