1 يسوعُ نادى حينما
أذاقهُ العِدى المنونْ
يا أبتاهْ اغفِرْ لهمْ
لجهلِهِمْ ما يفعلونْ

2 لم يشكُهُمْ لكنَّه
من أجلِهم أجرى دماهْ
وكان فيهم شافعاً
يرفعُ للآب الصلاهْ

3 قد ذاقَ فاديَّ العنا
عنِّيْ وأصنافَ المِحَنْ
طوعاً لكي يُغفَرَ لْي
فينتهي كلُّ حَزَنْ

4 وهكذا كَفَّرَ عن
خطيتي فوقَ الصليبْ
محتملاً بالصبرِ مِن
جرّائِها الموتَ الرهيبْ

5 فيا لَفرطِ جودِهِ
وحبِّهِ الخاطي الحزين
إذ خلصَ الناس كما
أعطاهُمُ إرثَ البنينْ
