Text: | I'll Tell it Because it is True |
Author: | A. W. S. |
Tune: | [The grace of my Saviour is boundless and free] |
Composer: | Arthur W. Spooner |
1 The grace of my Saviour is boundless and free,
His love like the ocean so deep;
He welcomes the sinners who enter his fold,
He guides them and calls them his sheep.
Refrain:
I’ll tell the sweet story of grace,
The story so old, but so new,
I’ll tell it to men ev’rywhere,
I’ll tell it, because it is true.
2 When far from my home in the desert of sin,
He brought me again to the fold;
His care was so tender, his love was so sweet,
The story can never grow old. [Refrain]
3 The path to my home is oft rugged and steep,
But strength for each day will be giv’n;
The grace that has saved me, most surely will keep,
And bring me at last safe to heav’n. [Refrain]
4 And when the dear Saviour I see on his throne,
And stand ‘mid the great ransomed throng,
The grace that has saved me, I there will proclaim,
And join in redemption’s glad song. [Refrain]
