1 I have a Saviour--he’s pleading in glory,
So precious, tho' earthly enjoyments be few;
And now he is watching in tenderness o’er me;
But, oh, that my Saviour was your Saviour too!

For you I am praying--
I'm praying for you!

2 I have a Father--to me he has given
A hope for eternity, precious and true;
And soon will my spirit be with him in heaven;
But, oh, that he'd let me bring you with me too! [Refrain]

3 I have a robe--’tis resplendent in whiteness--
Awaiting in glory my wondering view;
Oh, when I'll receive it, all shining in brightness,
Dear friend, could I see you receiving one too! [Refrain]

4 I have a peace, and it's calm as a river--
A peace that the friend of the world never knew;
My Saviour alone is its Author and Giver;
