1 Be a sunny, sunny Christian,
Give the world your brightest smile;
Let your eyes with love be beaming,
Keep your brightness all the white;
Do not show the world the teardrop,
Which at times may dim the eye,
Take that secretly to Jesus,
Who aloud the fount can dry.

Show the world that hope of heaven
Drives the shadows all away.

Be a worthy child of grace;
Do not let the lines of trouble
Mar the brightness of your face;

Scatter roses by the wayside,

In the life you live for Jesus,
