1 Drifting, drifting with the current,
Toss’d by wind and swept by tide,
Downward, downward sweeps the water,
Treach’rous currents danger hide.
Listen, listen, hear the thunders,
From the dark abyss below,
Waiting precious souls to ruin,
Down the stream of sin they go.

Drifting, drifting, quickly drifting,
Are you going down in sin?
Hasten, hasten, heed the warning,
Jesus bids you come to him.

2 Brother, whither are you drifting?
See the rapids just ahead?
Haste thee, quickly turn to refuge,
Let thy life by Christ be led.
Haste thee, brother, turn to Jesus,
He’s a refuge and a guide,
Surging billows cannot harm thee,
You’ll be safe by Jesus’ side. [Refrain]
