77. Lift Up Your Hearts

1 Lift up your hearts, ye pilgrims, ye pilgrims,
Along the heav’nward way;
Be strong, and of good courage, good courage,
His royal word obey.

Lift up your hearts, take courage,
Whatever may betide;
The Savior stands above you,
The Lord is on your side!

2 Whatever he may lead you, may lead you,
Go forward undismayed;
Let not your heart be troubled, be troubled,
Nor let it be afraid. [Refrain]

3 Look up, look up, not downward, not downward;
The soul that trusts in him
May see the King of glory, of glory,
Thro’ earthly shadows dim. [Refrain]

4 The lifted heart with gladness, with gladness
Still walks an upward way,
