1 Enlist in the army of Jesus,
To join in the conflict with sin;
Go forth with true faith, the divine Leader saith,
And trophies of victory win.

Enlist as his soldier today;
The sword you must wield, take the helmet and shield,
The bugle now calls you away.

2 Enlist in the ranks of the faithful,
Who, trusting in Jesus’ name, fight;
With them bravely go, and, confronting the foe,
Be valiant for truth and the right. [Refrain]

3 Enlist ‘neath the glorious standard
That bears the blood-stains of the cross;
That banner unfurled shall wave over the world,
Secure from defeat and from loss. [Refrain]

4 Enlist, and when warfare is ended,
Rejoicing, your weapons lay down;
Eternity’s peace from all strife brings release,
And victors shall gain a bright crown. [Refrain]
