the church our blest Redeemer saved
with his own precious blood.

2 We love your church, O God.
whose saints before you stand,
dear as the apple of your eye,
and written on your hand.

for them our prayers ascend;
for them our cares and toils be given,
till toils and cares shall end.

4 O Jesus, Saviour, Guide,
our Sovereign and our Friend,
from every snare and foe, your hand
shall great deliverance send.
