2. Laŭdu pri la gloro Dia! Ne pereos lia vort°;
Venkos sanktularo lia; neniiĝos peko, mort'.
—————
Estu lia pov' laŭdata de l' ĉiela anĝelar°;
Lia nomo adorata de la tuta kreitar'.

Text Information
First Line: Ho anĝeloj, la Sinjoron adoradu en ĉiel°
Title: Ho anĝeloj, la Sinjoron adoradu en ĉiel'(o)
English Title: Praise the Lord, ye heavens adore Him
Translator: Clarence Bicknell
Author: Anonima
Topic: Praise to God
Source: In "Foundling Hospital Collection", 1796; HE 7 (2 vv.) (= Ad 472; cf. AK 7 (4 vv.))
Notes: The full text has a superscript o (°) at the end of each odd-numbered line, to indicate that one may at the user's discretion either sing the full word (ending in o) or the ending-elided word (which would end in an apostrophe). The former may suit the music better, but the latter provides a fuller rhyme.
Tune Information
Name: ST. OSWALD
Composer: John Bacchus Dykes (1857)

Tune Information:

N.B.: St. Oswald is only half a stanza in length, so one sings four stanzas to it, which are separated by the lines "—————". In addition, the tune pressures us to perfect the rhymes, eliding the final vowels of the first lines of the stanzas. However, it seems to me that this throws emphasis on the suffix rhyme in the last stanza. Therefore I prefer the tunes (e.g. Faben) in the meter 8.8.8.7.D (St. Oswald is 8.7.8.7, and Austria and Hyfrydol are in 8.7.8.7.D).
